Privacy policy
What we collect, what we do with it, and how to make us delete it.
Plain English, because a privacy policy nobody can read protects nobody. If anything here is unclear, email us and we will explain it.
What we collect
- Your email address — only if you type it into a form on this site to receive the free planning guide. Nothing else is required, and we do not ask for your name, phone number or address.
- Anonymous usage data — which pages are opened, from which country, on what kind of device, and which links are clicked. This is aggregated and does not identify you.
- Settings you choose — such as the currency you select, stored in your own browser so the site remembers it. This never leaves your device and we cannot read it.
We do not collect payment details. We never see them: all payment happens on GetYourGuide, not here.
What we do with it
Your email address is used to send you the guide you asked for and, occasionally, practical updates about visiting Franz Josef. Every message has an unsubscribe link, one click, no questions. We do not sell, rent or share your email address with anyone.
Usage data is used to work out which pages are useful and which are not.
Cookies and tracking
When you click a booking link, GetYourGuide places a cookie in your browser that records that you arrived from this site. It lasts 31 days and is what allows us to be credited if you book. It contains no personal information about you.
You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings at any time. Doing so does not stop you booking and does not change your price.
Who else is involved
- GetYourGuide — handles bookings, payments and the affiliate cookie, under its own privacy policy.
- Our email provider — stores your address so we can send the guide, and nothing else.
- Our hosting provider — keeps standard server logs, including IP addresses, for security.
Your rights
Wherever you live, you can ask us to tell you what we hold about you, correct it, or delete it entirely. Under the GDPR in Europe and the UK, and under United States state privacy laws, this is your legal right; we apply the same rule to everybody regardless of country. Write to us and we will act within 30 days.
The fastest route to deletion is the unsubscribe link in any email — it removes your address from our list immediately.
Children
This site is not directed at children and we do not knowingly collect data from anyone under 16.
Changes
If this policy changes we will re-date this page. Material changes will also be mentioned in the next email we send.
